  They started lying and rewriting their history right after 1914 when nothing they had been prophesying came true. And they have been lying and rewriting their history ever since. Like most liars they have trouble keeping their story straight and are forever saying things that contradict what they previously stated.

  "Cemetery Witnessing" on Memorial Day

  i've been wondering if this is just something that's done in my area, or if people do it all over.. every year on memorial day, a lot of people meet for fs and then when they break into groups, they all discuss which cemeteries they are going to "work".

  every major cemetery in the city is divvied up.

  the idea is, they take a stack of small tracts (usually the what hope for dead loved ones) and they basically park the car in the cemetery and walk around handing them out to the mourners.

  I don't remember anyone doing that at the halls I attended doing that. I think most of the people at the halls I went to were a little more reasonable and didn't do the real obnoxious stuff like hanging around cemetaries bothering people. I guess we went out door knocking on Memorial Day. We used have congregation picnics on Memorial Day but I think the put a stop the that because it was fun.

  i haven't been anywhere near a jw meeting or convention in at least 8 or 9 years.

  I was wondering long it has been since they came out with the new song book? Up to the time of this change were they still using the one they used in the early seventies. I think that one was purple.

  I remember when I first started going to the KH thinking how god awful the music was. I think it was the first or second time I went I took a friend with me. He started laughing at one of the songs. It had some line about God's enemies biting the dust that set him off. Like Prophecor I've also thought that I should have known something was wrong by the lousy music. I guess I'm fortunate because I don't have that poison rattling around in my head.

  I thought your video was very good and got the point across but I don't know if many jdubs will get it. About a week ago my JW mother-in-law was watching the news and they were covering the Camping prediction and she made a comment about how stupid he was. I answered here by saying there is always some idiot who thinks they know when the end will be based some sort of weird math and the Bible. She never replied and I'm not sure she got the point.

  I also liked the soundtrack on your video. I just got done reading Sammy Hagar's book and it was nice to hear some of his music.

  Sorry you're still here Blondie. It must be very dissapointing. I wouldn't be here now but I hit my head on the ceiling on the way up. I guess should have been outside and when it occured. Maybe they'll reschedule it and give us better instructions.

  I liked that video. It brought back memories of the 80's.

  sibblings not attending daughters wedding

  hi guys hope your all doing well, as you may recall my daughter is getting married soon in a couple of weeks in fact and we're inactive jws haven't been to a meeting for many years so we're pretty much like dead spiritually in the eyes of jws and my sibblings.

  these are the same guys that refused to take care of mum and dad when she was alive and took me to court revoking my power of attorney and eventually placing mum and dad in a home and died soon after.

  we dont speak to each other any longer as they ddestroyed everything i loved.

  cantleave said what I was thinking. Your daughter was being kind inviting them but personally I would only invite people like that as a courtesy if I was sure that they wouldn't show up. The focus on the wedding day should be on the joy of the couple being married and shouldn't be derailed by dubbish nonsense like shunning people at the wedding or not wanting to enter a church or whatever other crap they could come up with the would draw attention away from the point of the day and ruin it for others.

  Should False Prophets be sued for fraud?

  billions of dollars are generated and poured into ministries like campings, people have again done what they did in millers day, in 75, and again right now.. believers sell belongings, donate their money and time to these sort of cons, basically bankrupt themselves for the prophet who later gets to cry 'no foul'.

  while we may mock (and rightly so) miller, russell, rutherford, the wt, camping and all the others of the same ilk, what about those suckered in?

  some of them are now bust just like in the previous mentioned examples times as well.. what massive culpability must these ones bare?

  But is it fraud? What if the so called prophets really believed what they are saying? If I'm crazy enough to think that I have a direct line to God and he is telling me the world is going to end next week and you are messed up enough to believe me then who is to blame? In cases where you can prove outright deceiption then I think they should be held accountable. I don't believe we should go back to the old testament ways like stoning false prophets like Harold Camping to death but I think it should be ok for a large group of people to show up at his church and throw pies at him.
